What's my point? Well, last Sunday, I took my morning shower, stepped out of the tub, and began to dry myself. I put my right foot up on the edge of the tub (as I always do), and there was some water on the edge. Well...... my foot slid to the left, I lost my balance, and I ended up FALLING INTO THE TUB, landing first on my right knee (yes, the one with the artificial joint), my right hip, and hardest of all.... my right shoulder! I lay there for a few minutes to catch my breath, and say a pray of thanks that I hadn't knocked myself out!
Both my husband and son were working in the yard. I had to get up by myself. Now picture this fat lady, trying my best to squirm myself around to get my good knee under me, hanging on to the bar above the side of the tub... Yes, it was painful, but I did it. I was in tears, both from pain and being so ashamed of myself for getting myself into such a predicament.
The next few days were a blur of pain and pain pills. Slowly, it has gotten better. Did I learn anything? You betcha! Now I sit on the lid of the toilet and dry my feet!
Lesson learned! THE HARD WAY!
