Good-bye to Tiny...

This is Tiny, Sony's sister. She was quite a bit smaller than Sony, and the last few months weighed only about 4 lbs. She was totally blind in one eye, and a cataract was also growing in her right eye. She had lost most of her body fur, so needed a little coat to keep her from getting chilly.

She put up with Maynard, although never played with her. But then, Tiny only was playful as a very young dog. She 'adopted' Dale as the only human allowed to touch her without getting bit. She would sit with Colin in the recliner , however.

Tiny didn't see the sense of all Maynard's toys. The only things that interested her were Dale, her pillow, and food. She would have been 15 years old in October.

Dale built a little wooden coffin for her, and she is buried at the edge of the woods with her mother, Bridget, our cat, Mister, and an even smaller poodle, Misty, who was about 3 lbs. Good-bye, Tiny. You are missed. Maynard spent several days looking for you, even though we let her say 'goodbye' to you when we came back from the vet.

Hot, Rain, Sun, Wind, in that order...

It's been a fascinating few days watching the changing weather. First, it was SO hot and humid it was hard to move without breaking into a huge sweat. Then temps dropped, and we got some blessed rain. Sun came out again today, but temps were in the mid 60's and lots of wind.

I took Maynard for a little walk around the property, but she has more pep than I do, so she was a little disappointed when I wanted to go back into the house. She moped around until I convinced Colin to take her out for a good run. NOW she's happy!

Me? Well, I'm still not up to par. Don't know what's wrong, but sure don't have much energy, and had a horrible night, tossing and turning. Hope tonight is better.

HOT! SWEATY!

Let's face it, I don't do summer well. I sweat. I think I've mentioned this before. Today, when I was sitting on the edge of my bed, putting on my support stockings (now...try to get THAT image out of your mind!), I was sweating like crazy. Not all over, my head was sweating! I have short hair now, and it runs through my hair, and drips off the ends onto my neck, back, shoulders... NOT a pretty picture, folks.

Well, Maynard was 'helping' me put my socks on as she does every day. She moved behind me, and I wondered what she might be up to. Well, she started licking my neck and hair, apparently trying to get rid of all the sweat droplets... What a little trooper! Now, I need to figure out some kind of backpack to put her in so she is available to catch the drops as I work around the house and yard. She weighs 22 lbs. now, so I'm not sure that is even an option. I guess it's back to wearing the terry cloth sweat band around my forehead. At least the sweat won't run into my eyes....

My Etsy Shop...

I have listed several things I've made on Etsy. Finally sold something! One of the embroidered dishtowels sold. I'm so happy!

Now, if only someone would buy the quilt.....

Sorry, sorry, sorry...

OK, I've turned into one of those bloggers who complains when others don't update, and look what's happened to me.... sorry, sorry, sorry.

Not that I have hundreds of readers who are waiting with bated breath for my next post... Far from it. But I do expect the writers of blogs I read to post more often than I do! Shame on me!

The temp has reached 70 degrees today. That's not very warm for many people, but I am sitting here sweating. It's not pretty, folks! I'm a BIG sweater! I come from big sweaters, both my dad and mom carried cloth handkerchiefs to wipe their faces when they were working during warm weather.

One of the first things our son noticed about his grandpa was him sweating as he worked on a project. "Gacca," he said, "Your skin is leaking!" Yes, he called his grandfather, 'Gacca'. He could SAY 'grandfather', but used his own term till he was in kindergarten.

I'm rambling, aren't I? Sorry.
