Starting again...

A year and a half ago, I was happily going to BSU twice a week and once a week volunteering in a second grade classroom at WHA School.

Yes, I was happy. The students were so fun to get to know. The classes were challenging and expanded my mind.

Working with the second graders was also challenging and so rewarding.

Then I had knee replacement surgery, and infection, a small accident with the knee, lots and lots and lots of physical therapy.... so my classroom activities were curtailed for the last year and a half... yes, I could still sew, but I NEED TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!

So what's my point you ask? Well, I'm going to try to volunteer in a classroom at Walker again! Because of budget cuts there, the elementary Special Education teacher is absolutely SWAMPED! So I called and asked her if I could help her out a couple mornings a week. How do I say this... SHE WAS THRILLED! SAID I COULD COME ANY TIME!

Tomorrow I will try it. I told her that the only drawback would be if my knees hold out.... you got prayers? Use them, please!
