Nathan and His Quilt

This is Nathan, with the quilt I made for him. He was the inspiration for his mother to start 'Seeing Hands'. His mother put his hands on the rectangles at the top of the quilt so he could read his name. I found embroidery designs for the Braille alphabet. I embroidered the letters and the hands on velour so he would have another texture to feel. He used his Braille computer to write me the sweetest thank-you note.

That beautiful smile is the best thank-you I could ever have...
