We had what is lovingly(?) called a 'gully washer' last night! We needed the moisture badly, but it came down so heavy, so fast, I hope it soaked into our parched lawn and garden before flowing away.
My father always like to say "Do you think the rain will hurt the rhubarb?" Well, my son had just planted some rhubarb last week. And the rain washed it all out!!! So today he re-planted it. So I guess rain CAN hurt rhubarb!
I'm busy sewing. Just finished hemming 152 bandannas for the Walker Animal Hospital. Delivered them and came home with another huge bag of them to be hemmed!
Also, I decided not to take the two classes at BSU that I had planned on. My knee surgery is October 4th, and recovery time will be about 3-4 weeks, so I would miss a lot. Today was the first day of the two classes I wanted to be in... it was hard not being there. I've been taking classes up there for five years now.
But next week, school begins in Walker, and I will be volunteering in a first grade classroom. There is a possibility that I can be part of the "Foster Grandparent" program. It requires 15 hrs. a week, and they pay mileage plus a 'stipend' for your time.
